We’re in! (conditionally)
We can live in our house! Â On Oct 31 we got a conditional occupancy permit and are free to move in. Â We still have a few things to do before the building inspector will give his final approval, but we can move in! (and who needs proper stair railings anyways?).
In any case, we’re still living in the trailer while we do a few final jobs, but now that my sister is living with us and we have a dog, we’ve got some good incentive to get cracking.
Here’s a few of those final jobs.
Painting (primer only so far, Â because actual wall paint is for fancy folk )
Cleaning the 20-year-old concrete floor :
Acid staining the concrete:
relaxing on our one piece of furniture (why don’t houses have built in furniture like boats and RVs?)
Here’s a few shots of the house itself.

We’re ready for guests, come on over!
