Random happenings
It’s been a jam-packed summer (much like this blog post is going to be!) and here are a few highlights:
We had such a good time in the San Juans last year that we went back for another week. Here’s Nyah botanizing at Sucia Island.Â
Salt Spring also had a music festival! Â The adults enjoyed watching a slate of great bands . . .
. . . while the kids mostly ran around the field in packs.
Construction projects continued. Â We can’t quite give up using our kitchen as a workshop, so we built a set of bunk-beds in it. Â Â
Each night the kids alternate sleeping in the eagle’s nest or the bear’s den.
We’ve also been putting in our soffits. Here Nyah shows off the pile of wood we picked up from a mill in Chemainus.
and here she inspects some of the finished product.
There was also the Fall Fair, complete with rides,
and cotton candy.
In more random news, the kids colonized an island, but then the tide came in.
We discovered the fields at Burgoyne Bay (where have they been hiding these?!)
And we spent an extended weekend on Hornby.  Â
There’s probably more, but I need something to jam into my next chaotic and belated blog post!
