Random happenings

Random happenings

It’s been a jam-packed summer (much like this blog post is going to be!) and here are a few highlights:

We had such a good time in the San Juans last year that we went back for another week. Here’s Nyah botanizing at Sucia Island. 20150731_181911

Salt Spring also had a music festival!  The adults enjoyed watching a slate of great bands . . .20150808_144716

. . . while the kids mostly ran around the field in packs.20150808_144843

Construction projects continued.  We can’t quite give up using our kitchen as a workshop, so we built a set of bunk-beds in it.   20150811_202210

Each night the kids alternate sleeping in the eagle’s nest or the bear’s den.20150903_163446

We’ve also been putting in our soffits. Here Nyah shows off the pile of wood we picked up from a mill in Chemainus.20150824_150904

and here she inspects some of the finished product.20150913_110807

There was also the Fall Fair, complete with rides,20150919_120816(0)

and cotton candy.20150919_135637

In more random news, the kids colonized an island, but then the tide came in.20150814_192602

We discovered the fields at Burgoyne Bay (where have they been hiding these?!)20150823_182643

And we spent an extended weekend on Hornby.   20150925_171136 20150925_173239 20150925_173418

There’s probably more, but I need something to jam into my next chaotic and belated blog post!
